Arenal is a cozy hot springs complex the Hidalgo family. The
smallest of the Arenal Hot Springs, Eco thermals is geared
toward privacy and relaxation and does not accept more than
100 visitors at a time. Visitors are invited to enjoy the
beautiful environment at this small place.
Eco thermals hot springs is a family project and has been built over time and years of hard work of Manolo Hidalgo and his family. The 4 pools vary in temperature and one of the pools has a nice waterfall.

Hot springs are considered a natural expression of Earth’s inherent energy. Geologically, Tabacón Resort’s hot springs are 97% rain-based and 3% magma-based. Rainwater enters the earth through fissures on the surface and is then heated by magma found in the earth’s core. Once heated, the waters rise to surface, taking with them minerals found in the earth’s rocky stratus. Thus, the resort’s waters are loaded with minerals. Hot springs provide many benefits stemming from various chemical, physical and biological effects.
- The chemical effects are related to the minerals and other substances in the water, which are transferred to the skin and bloodstream through osmosis.
- The physical effects are due in large part to the water temperature, which helps dilate the skin, thus improving oxygen flow in the tissues that are being treated. The heat also encourages the flow of natural sedating substances in the body, encouraging muscle relaxation. Altogether, these effects create of a sense of wellbeing.
- The biological effects are produced by the hydrothermal flora and fauna, integrating micro and macro organisms in a complex union. This effect is called “biogleas,” and is composed of thousand of different species which strengthen the skin’s defense systems, helping it to repair itself from external attacks such as aging.
Facilities are comprised of thermo-mineral rivers, running at a soothing temperature range from 27 º C to 42º C, flowing through exotic tropical gardens, forming natural waterfalls and river pools.
Baldi Hot springs
offers
10 pools with 100 % thermo-mineral water, each with a
different temperature for you to choose. The hot springs
are located at the base of the Arenal Volcano and on a
clear night you can get a great view of the volcano's
activity.
Baldi subcontracts with Delph Bio Spa, a professional company involved in therapeutic body treatments. At the spa you can enjoy massages, exfoliations, facial treatments, manicure and similar services which enhances your relaxation.
The springs operate from 10:00am to 10:00pm and you may go in and out as you wish throughout the day.
